Test Engineer, Lead
About the Role
Lead the testing of integrated systems, execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) or similar User Acceptance Testing activities, and perform requirements-based testing as a Senior Test Engineer. Demonstrate strong communication skills and work effectively with internal engineering teams and external vendors to ensure quality, compliance, and acceptance of software products.
Responsibilities
- Perform system or software testing, validation, or acceptance testing
- Conduct acceptance test activities, such as FAT, and test integrated systems, including hardware and software
- Install and configure Windows and Linux Operating Systems (OS)
- Work with VMware Workstation Pro and VMware ESXi hypervisor to create virtual environments with a mix of VM types, including various Windows and Linux OSs
- Set up basic Windows Active Directory Domains, DHCP, and DNS
- Analyze and troubleshoot Windows processes and network traffic using COTS diagnostic tools, such as Wireshark, Process Monitor (Procmon), or Process Explorer
- Read and validate technical specifications, drawings, and test procedures
- Travel domestically up to 20% of the time
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with system or software testing, validation, or acceptance testing
- 3+ years of experience with acceptance test activities, such as FAT, and testing integrated systems, including hardware and software
- Experience with Windows and Linux commands
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot Windows processes and network traffic using diagnostic tools
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
- HS diploma or GED
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with software or systems engineering, cybersecurity, IT, and Agile development
- Experience with computer networking and network traffic analysis
- Scripting with Python
- Experience with interface documentation, system drawings, and block diagrams
- Experience validating vendor test procedures and acceptance criteria
- Experience working in multi-vendor or system integration environments
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills
- Excellent communication skills for working with customers, internal teams, and external vendors

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.
Schedule
This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite:
- Remote: Primarily virtual, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
- Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
- Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.
For virtual work, cameras are generally expected to be on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
