Test Lab Technician I

About the role

Under limited supervision, the Test Lab Technician I performs a variety of tasks in the System Test Lab (Rack Room), providing troubleshooting and repair support, creating and updating engineering drawings, assembling test fixtures and other lab equipment, and assisting in day-to-day support operations.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, create, and update engineering drawings for cables and system layouts
• Create wiring harnesses/assemblies from engineering drawings
• Assemble and maintain new test racks and mini racks
• Load software and configuration onto test racks and mini racks
• Troubleshoot test rack and mini rack issues including physical connections, miswiring, software load issues, and software configuration issues
• Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of lab hardware and assets
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 0-3 years of experience as an engineering lab technician, assemble/repair line tech, or related professional experience
• Capable of building cables and other electromechanical assemblies
• Broad knowledge of electronic and electromechanical components
• Knowledgeable in the use of lab instruments (multimeter, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of software operating systems, such as Windows and Linux, is desirable
