About the role

Amentum is a trusted partner to United States government agencies, allied governments, and corporations worldwide. We are seeking a Test Lab Technician to support our program.

Responsibilities

  • Test interface hardware
  • Set up test circuit schematics
  • Use software code to control automated test equipment (ATE)
  • Aid engineers in test procedure development
  • Perform other various duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Vocational/technical training beyond high school in electronics or related field
  • Hands-on experience with handling and testing small parts, such as microelectronics (Good hand dexterity, hand-eye coordination, good “fine motor control” with hands)
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of basic electronics and common electronic assembly components and their use. (diodes, capacitors, resistors, transformers, integrated circuits, inductors, etc.)
  • Understand and utilize laboratory safety practices, including chemical safety and must be comfortable working with and around Hazardous Materials/Chemicals
  • Ability to engage with a multidisciplinary team of technicians, scientists, and engineers
  • Strong written communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to perform detail-oriented work are required
  • Identify and support opportunities for process improvements through fixture design and integrating new techniques
  • Mechanical Aptitude/Mechanically Inclined: broad knowledge of “how things work”. Machines, mechanical movement, etc.
  • Familiarity and competency with power tools (drill press, power hand-drill, bandsaw, table saw, sanders/grinders)

Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-year or 4-year degree in Electronics Technology or Electronics Engineering Technology
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in laboratory environments, including operation of microscopes and other analytical equipment
  • Basic knowledge of microelectronic construction and materials
  • Basic knowledge of techniques for failure or material analysis of microelectronics
  • Problem Solving/Troubleshooting: figuring out how something works, why something doesn’t work, or how to improve an existing task/step, fixture, method etc.

Benefits

  • Hiring salary range: $31.25-$45.67 hourly (salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data)
  • Compensation details: $65,000 - $85,000 annually
