Essential Job Functions
- Carry out test setups, install instrumentation, operate test equipment, and monitor test equipment.
- Analyze and interpret test data and prepare technical reports.
- Utilize computer software and hardware to conduct tests on mechanical products and systems.
- Fabricate test and control equipment, including product test fixtures.
- Solve problems and troubleshoot to support test objectives and test equipment.
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with testing tasks as needed.
Technical Skills, Education And Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of post-high school education in a technical field, or equivalent industry experience evaluated by management.
- Ability to understand and interpret engineering specifications related to temperature, flow, pressure, and force.
- Knowledge of reading and translating engineering drawings into hand-fabricated components.
- Proficiency in using quality measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauge, etc.
- A working knowledge of geometry and trigonometry.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and hands-on ability.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime and non-standard hours as required.
- Ability to travel occasionally (0 to 4 times per year).
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Lifting parts and fixtures weighing up to 80 pounds and performing bending operations.
- Standing on feet for 8+ hours per day, which may involve working in temperatures above 90 degrees Fahrenheit for extended periods.
- Working in environments with mechanical/moving parts hazards, dust, dirt, odors, and irritants.
- Exposure to high noise levels.
