Position Summary

The Test Equipment Technician installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains production equipment in compliance with company and regulatory requirements. The technician will ensure product quality by monitoring the performance of the equipment and will utilize their mechanical proficiency to conduct machine troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely completion of PMs, calibrations and work orders
  • Provide initial troubleshooting and hands-on support for equipment breakdowns
  • Responsible for maintenance (emergency, corrective and preventative), testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of a variety manufacturing equipment
  • Ensure equipment the is operating efficiently within specified requirements
  • Assists with equipment deviation investigations and CAPA execution
  • Work with vendors to get quotes on replacement parts and secure onsite support
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve machine downtime and set-up/ teardown / changeover efficiency
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service
  • Ensures equipment manuals and work instruction changes needed are properly elevated and communicated to Engineering
  • Tracks Tester service parts inventory and consumable parts for Testing

Additional Support

  • Help identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with equipment modifications and validation activities
  • Assist with the installation, setup and qualification of new or modified equipment
  • Comply with all established safety requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate's degree/Trade School graduate in a relevant technical field with 3+ years' experience in an industrial environment with equipment technician responsibilities OR High school graduate or equivalent with 5+ years' experience in an industrial environment with equipment technician responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • The aptitude to correctly troubleshoot and correct problems with a variety of equipment
  • Soldering of wires and SMT components, Electrical measurements with multi-Meter, ability to follow and perform calibration checks and maintenance with specialized test equipment
  • Able to work independently on off-shifts and call-ins to troubleshoot and repair equipment on an emergency basis
  • Prior experience with AC and DC electrical circuits and troubleshooting electrical problems for manufacturing equipment
  • Correctly read and understand electrical wiring diagrams, electronic schematics, engineering diagrams, isometrics and P&ID drawings
  • Set priorities and successfully adapt to current and changing business needs
  • Proficient computer skills in Excel and Word to create, amend and modify documents for individual and team use
  • Must be a committed team player prepared to work in and embrace a team-based culture and work closely with shift team to achieve goals

Schedule

  • This schedule will include holidays, and weekends; over-time may be required
  • Must be available by phone call at all hours for 24/7 operations (this will include nights, holidays, and weekends)
