Test Engineer - Senior
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing automated testing frameworks to ensure the quality, reliability, security, and performance of mission-critical systems. This role involves designing and executing automated test strategies within DevSecOps environments, supporting release readiness activities, and collaborating closely with development, cybersecurity, and operations teams. The position also provides technical mentorship, drives testing standardization, and promotes continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and optimize automated testing frameworks.
- Design and implement automated test strategies within DevSecOps environments.
- Support release readiness activities and collaborate with development, cybersecurity, and operations teams.
- Provide technical mentorship and drive testing standardization.
- Promote continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.
- Conduct hands-on testing to ensure the quality and performance of systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in relevant roles.
- Experience developing and executing automated testing solutions and frameworks.
- Proficiency with test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar technologies.
- Experience working within Agile and DevSecOps development environments.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycles, testing methodologies, and defect management processes.
- Experience using CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret clearance.
Skills
- Experience supporting federal, defense, intelligence, or highly regulated environments (nice to have).
- Knowledge of security testing, performance testing, and vulnerability validation practices (nice to have).
- Experience with cloud-native applications, containers, and microservices architectures (nice to have).
- ISTQB, Certified Agile Tester (CAT), Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE), or similar certifications (nice to have).
- Familiarity with automated API testing, test data management, and test environment administration (nice to have).
- Experience mentoring QA engineers and leading testing improvement initiatives (nice to have).
Pay
The pay range for the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland is: $91,300—$184,900 USD.
