About the role
North Point Technology is looking to hire a Test Engineer to join a cross-functional Agile Scrum team delivering geospatial intelligence software capabilities in support of critical national security missions. This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to successfully pass a Polygraph examination. The role offers the opportunity to work alongside software engineers, product managers, systems engineers, and mission experts to ensure the delivery of reliable, secure, and high-performing software through robust manual and automated testing practices in a DevSecOps environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, development, and execution of comprehensive test strategies across multiple Agile sprints, including functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated and manual test cases for new and existing capabilities.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, systems engineers, and Scrum Masters to define acceptance criteria.
- Validate application performance, reliability, security, and usability.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution.
- Support CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated testing into deployment workflows.
- Analyze test results and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance Agile team effectiveness.
Required Skills/Experience
- Agile software development and Scrum team participation
- Creation and execution of manual and automated test plans
- Automated testing tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent
- API testing using tools such as Postman or REST Assured
- CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms
- Defect management using tools such as Jira
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community programs
- Scripting languages including JavaScript and Python
- Containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner
- Cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, or OpenShift
- DevSecOps pipelines and automated quality assurance practices
- Geospatial applications or GEOINT data
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; or Master’s degree in a related field
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with ability to successfully pass a Polygraph examination
- US citizenship required
- Certifications such as ISTQB, CASTP, CAST, CSTE, or Security+ preferred
