About the role

The rotating machinery team within the Systems Integration and Test group is seeking an innovative, self-driven Test Engineer Level 2/3 to join our dynamic, multifaceted team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that our propulsion and power generation equipment meet the stringent testing requirements for our nation’s newest submarines and aircraft carriers.
  • System-level tests of turbine-generators and gear-driven propulsion units.
  • Integrate data-acquisition systems and program automation routines.
  • Acquire and analyze data, control test conduct, and write procedures and reports.
  • Learn about the technologies that make our power-generation and propulsion systems unique.
  • Support 24/7 system-level test campaigns in our factory.
  • Work flexible schedules, including night shifts 30-70% of the time.

Requirements

  • Basic Qualifications for Level 2: Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 2 years relevant work experience; or Master’s Degree in STEM with no relevant experience.
  • Basic Qualifications for Level 3: Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 5 years relevant work experience; or Master’s Degree in STEM with 3 years relevant work experience.
  • Experience using benchtop instrumentation (e.g. spectrum analyzers and digital multimeters).
  • Ability to interpret basic circuit diagrams.
  • Willingness to work night shift 30-70% of the time.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security Clearance.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering preferred.
  • Industry experience related to testing and troubleshooting preferred.
  • Programming and/or automation experience (e.g. MATLAB, Python, C/C++, C#, Visual Basic, and LabVIEW) preferred.
  • PLC programming experience (e.g. Allen Bradley) preferred.
  • Experience testing rotating machinery preferred.
  • Experience using multi-channel data acquisition (DAQ) systems preferred.
  • Experience testing large structures preferred.
  • Systems-Engineering experience preferred.
  • Military Experience (Navy experience a plus) preferred.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00
