About the role

The Marvin Group is a leading defense contractor specializing in the development and manufacturing of systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment, serving as a trusted source for the Department of Defense and global allies for over 60 years. This role involves providing direction for developing test practices and ensuring compliance with contractual test requirements through processes, plans, procedures, automation, and testing devices.

The ideal candidate is a highly-skilled electrical engineer with excellent mechanical aptitude, practical problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of testing tools and equipment. The role requires working with hand sketches, detailed CAD models, and designing/fabricating close-tolerance parts, jigs, and fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Assist and occasionally lead test projects: design, development, training, and production release.
• Ensure proper test-related documentation is completed, verified, and approved, including test processes, equipment, test programs, and fixtures.
• Prepare and compile test reports, including data analysis, results, test validation, and verification.
• Write test plans and procedures that meet product requirements utilizing VCRM; train test personnel and verify training effectiveness.
• Perform setup, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of test systems, circuits, components, harnesses, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
• Conduct test incident/failure and root cause analysis; implement and verify corrective actions.
• Demonstrate time management and communication to complete tasks and projects on time.
• Read and understand technical drawings, procedures, and Mil-Spec industry standards.
• Develop and utilize technical knowledge of product line testing; collaborate proactively with stakeholders to solve problems.
• Support the development of new test program test readiness reviews.

Requirements

• 4-year electrical engineering degree or equivalent, with 3+ years of experience in a closely related technical field, including mechanical engineering.
• Hands-on experience with signal generators, power meters, oscilloscopes, hi-pot testers, and cable harness testers.
• Experience with EMI, RF, analog, and digital circuits in relation to test development; understanding of hardware test requirements for volume manufacturing.
• Advanced schematic interpretation and ability to use precision measuring devices.
• Solid documentation, organization, attention to detail, and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to prioritize and organize tasks daily to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge and ability to comprehend engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Demonstrated experience with customer relations and strong communication skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of equipment used for testing, data acquisition, and programming languages such as C, C++, and/or LabVIEW.
• Execution of tests in accordance with the quality system.
• Knowledgeable of manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Mid-level skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must meet export control compliance requirements; all applicants must be “U.S. persons” within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee).

Pay

$80,000 – $105,000 annually, based on experience, skills, and education.
