Main Function
The Test Engineer will be responsible for setting up a measure process for the following metrics that will be reported on a weekly basis:
- FAL (False Failure Rate)
- Tester Uptime
- Uphill Volume (UPH) versus Quote
- Spare Parts Inventory
- EQUIPMENT SELECTION: Specify machine type, expected throughput, expected yields, and required equipment manning. Liaise with customers to understand their needs and requirements, including customer-specific test equipment and fixtures.
- EQUIPMENT PERFORMANCE: Ensure all manufacturing equipment meets supplier specifications and performs according to the quote. Forecast and stock spare parts and consumables for maintenance.
- TESTER MAINTENANCE: Manage all planned preventative maintenance, line support for breakdowns, and major machine overhaul activities. Design test processes for new products in collaboration with the Product Engineer.
- NEW PRODUCT INTRODUCTION: Establish the test process during product introduction and ensure it operates as designed. Work with the Quality group to resolve tester/software/process issues.
- QUALITY: Collaborate with the Quality group to establish quality plans and participate in ongoing quality assurance.
- TEAMWORK: Co-operate with all departments and take a proactive role in addressing test-related issues.
- DOCUMENTATION: Provide process documentation and test programs for production builds, ensuring accurate fixture pin-outs.
- ECN ACTIVITY: Participate in change control meetings and implement changes into test processes.
- TEST EQUIPMENT: Manage major equipment movements and installations, negotiate third-party service contracts, and maintain spares and consumables.
- QUOTATIONS / TOOLING: Specify and order test fixtures and other non-recurring expenses for new customers.

- Relevant College or University degree.
- 3 years of relevant experience.
