Test Engineer

About the role

Torch Technologies is seeking a Test Engineer to support the development, integration, verification, and validation of aviation diagnostics, prognostics, and health monitoring systems for U.S. Army aviation platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute system, integration, regression, and acceptance test procedures.
• Create test plans, test cases, and test reports.
• Perform software and hardware integration testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
• Support verification and validation activities throughout the software lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts and test environments.
• Analyze test results and perform root-cause investigations.
• Support field testing, demonstrations, and customer events.
• Participate in technical reviews and Agile development activities.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, tests, and defects.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 5+ years of test and evaluation experience
• Active Secret security clearance
• Experience developing and executing software test procedures
• Knowledge of verification and validation methodologies
• Experience with defect tracking and configuration management tools
• Familiarity with Agile development processes
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Experience supporting aviation, aerospace, or DoW programs
• Ability to work on customer site at Redstone Arsenal

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with automated testing frameworks and scripting languages
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools
• Familiarity with SQL Server and API testing
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), SIL, or system integration testing
• Knowledge of CMMI, ISO 9001, and software quality processes
• Experience with cybersecurity testing and secure software practices
• Familiarity with condition-based maintenance, HUMS, IVHMS, or predictive maintenance systems
• Experience supporting Army aviation platforms
• ISTQB, Security+, or other relevant technical certifications
