About the role
Torch Technologies is seeking a Test Engineer to support the development, integration, verification, and validation of aviation diagnostics, prognostics, and health monitoring systems for U.S. Army aviation platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute system, integration, regression, and acceptance test procedures.
- Create test plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Perform software and hardware integration testing.
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
- Support verification and validation activities throughout the software lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and test environments.
- Analyze test results and perform root-cause investigations.
- Support field testing, demonstrations, and customer events.
- Participate in technical reviews and Agile development activities.
- Ensure traceability between requirements, tests, and defects.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of test and evaluation experience
- Active Secret security clearance
- Experience developing and executing software test procedures
- Knowledge of verification and validation methodologies
- Experience with defect tracking and configuration management tools
- Familiarity with Agile development processes
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Experience supporting aviation, aerospace, or DoW programs
- Ability to work on customer site at Redstone Arsenal
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and scripting languages
- Knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools
- Familiarity with SQL Server and API testing
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), SIL, or system integration testing
- Knowledge of CMMI, ISO 9001, and software quality processes
- Experience with cybersecurity testing and secure software practices
- Familiarity with condition-based maintenance, HUMS, IVHMS, or predictive maintenance systems
- Experience supporting Army aviation platforms
- ISTQB, Security+, or other relevant technical certifications
