About the role
Torch Technologies is seeking a Test Engineer (mid-level) to provide resources using knowledge of professional aerospace engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services.
Responsibilities
- Sets the criteria for test documentation and the reporting of technical information.
- Performs technical assessments of test guidelines, methodologies, data sets, and formal reports.
- Presents testing strategies, goals, and processes to unit leadership at Safety Review Boards and Test Approval Boards.
- Offers technical oversight and carries out engineering responsibilities for the testing and assessment of major weapon programs, including development, engineering, and operational tests.
- Formulates test planning documents for weapons program.
- Predicts future needs for test assets and range facilities.
- Collaborates with program offices and lead contractors.
- Conducts pre-mission briefings and post-mission debriefings with aircrews regarding mission execution and objectives.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering; additional years of experience may be substituted for education requirement
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience
- Knowledge of development testing and evaluation to provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment
- Knowledge of integrated air-vehicles, ground systems, and support equipment sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of aerospace vehicles, systems, equipment, and components
- Effective communication skills, including proficiency in technical writing
- Familiarity with DoW Acquisition processes or project management professional principles
- Program office experience
- Active Secret clearance (contingent on Special Access Program approval)

- Proactive approach to fulfilling program needs and taking ownership of organizing and executing tasks
Skills
- Experience in flight testing or as an aircrew member on military fighter or bomber aircraft
- Background in the DoW weapons acquisition lifecycle
