About the role

This role is an integral member of an agile scrum team responsible for writing, executing, analyzing, and testing software products to build scalable applications across all digital channels. The incumbent will take a software quality and customer-focused view of software solutions, ensuring developers build high-quality applications that meet product vision. The role involves participation in every aspect of the SDLC process, including idea generation, business analysis, UX design, and rigorous testing against industry standards for quality assurance, traceability, and compliance. The incumbent will develop and execute test automation code as part of ongoing regression testing standards, refine the CI/CD process, participate in code reviews, and engage in manual testing.

Responsibilities

  • Work with software engineers, product analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements for new or enhanced features.
  • Write test case documents, test plan documents, and test results adhering to SOC2 standards set forth by Principal Analysts.
  • Perform peer reviews of testing artifacts.
  • Acquire, manipulate, or create all necessary test data needed for software quality assurance; mentor junior Test Engineers in this capacity.
  • Contribute to idea generation, business rule exploration, and product backlog refinement.
  • Attend release activities to ensure successful, high-quality product updates; coordinate release night activities for the department.
  • Participate in all scrum ceremonies, assist in sprint planning, and complete sprints from development through final execution of software applications/programs.
  • Communicate issues/blockers to the Scrum Master in a timely manner.
  • Assist in story creation (e.g., Definition of Done, Acceptance Criteria, estimation).
  • Create tasks for stories in RTC or Jira and update status and assignments accordingly.
  • Monitor work against the production schedule, provide progress updates, and report issues or impediments to senior analysts/principals regularly.
  • Mentor junior Test Engineers in agile processes and task management.
  • Develop and execute test automation code as part of ongoing regression testing standards using technologies such as Java, Selenium, Appium, and cloud build/delivery processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related field.
  • 3 years of experience writing test artifacts that adhere to SOC2 standards, including:
    • 1 year of writing test cases according to standard templates, simply, clearly, and concisely.
    • 1 year of writing test plans according to standard templates, defining test strategy and assumptions.
    • 1 year of test case and test plan peer review.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Information Systems, Business Management, or Healthcare Administration.
  • 5 years of experience developing test automation software according to coding and industry best practices, including:
    • 3 years of participating in code reviews and CI/CD process improvement.
    • 1 year of mentoring junior Test Engineers.

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with agile methodology (Scrum).
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently and idiomatically.
  • Knowledge of best practices across the full software development life cycle, including requirements, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Strong track record in designing and implementing large-scale consumer-facing applications.
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Passion for user experience and improving usability.
  • Experience and willingness to mentor junior team members and help develop their skills and leadership.

Working Conditions

  • Teaches/trains others regularly.
  • Rarely travels regularly from the office to various work sites or from site-to-site.
  • Occasionally works primarily out-of-office (non-sales roles).

Pay

Pay Range Minimum: $72,700.00

Pay Range Maximum: $116,600.00

Base pay is determined by a variety of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. Geographic differentials may apply for certain locations.
