Test Automation Software Engineer

About the role

We’re rapidly building and launching enterprise web-based systems in the cybersecurity field. As a Test Automation Software Engineer, you’ll transform the way we execute quality assurance by designing, implementing, and advancing software test automation capability. You’ll analyze existing test automation software against the latest industry advancements to recommend and design new solutions, determine test cases, and rapidly implement software to improve automated coverage. You’ll operationalize automation across a team of developers, manual testers, and automated testers, helping us launch next-generation cybersecurity products.

Responsibilities

• Understand system functionality and test cases in-depth to design and implement test automation solutions.
• Analyze existing test automation software against industry advancements and recommend new solutions.
• Determine test cases and rapidly implement software to improve automated test coverage.
• Operationalize automation across teams of developers, manual testers, and automated testers.
• Collaborate with testing and development teams to enhance software engineering and quality assurance for complex web applications.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with test frameworks, including Selenium or Playwright, and test automation in CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins or GitHub Actions).
• 2+ years of experience fielding production systems on web application development teams.
• 2+ years of experience with programming in Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, and C# or .NET.
• 2+ years of experience with Agile development tools, including Git, Jira, or Wikis.
• Experience with software engineering and quality assurance of complex web applications.
• Experience with web-based user interfaces, REST APIs, and databases.
• Secret clearance (required).
• Bachelor's degree.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SQL, Windows Server, IIS, Containers, and Linux.
• Experience with DevSecOps and GitOps.
• Experience with security tools, including GitHub CodeQL or Static Code Analysis.
• Knowledge of complex web-based application functions, modules, integrations, or data.
• Ability to learn new languages and technologies, design technical solutions, and make recommendations.
• Top Secret clearance.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.

Work models include:

• Remote: Primarily virtual, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
• Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
• Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration required.

For virtual and hybrid roles, employees are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
