Test Automation Engineer

Hybrid role requiring 4 days on-site in Englewood, CO for a Fortune 500 client. Long-term contract position.

About the role

This Test Automation Engineer role covers both automation and manual testing for customer-facing web and mobile portals and applications. The engineer will work with an end-to-end testing stack using TypeScript and Cucumber, manage accessibility, analytics, and functional requirements, and collaborate with Product, Design, and Development teams to ensure quality standards are met.

Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using TypeScript and Cucumber for web and mobile applications.
• Author and execute manual test cases across all phases of the software development life cycle.
• Perform mobile testing, including automation with Appium and manual validation on target devices.
• Validate accessibility, analytics, and functional requirements and enforce quality standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Development to define test scope and acceptance criteria.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of test processes.
• Support basic API testing and validation, using tools such as Postman when applicable.
• Contribute to end-to-end testing strategies within the team.

Requirements

• 8 to 10+ years of combined automation and manual testing with front-end web and mobile, including lead-level responsibilities.
• 2+ years of experience with Cucumber.
• Strong automation skills in TypeScript. JavaScript experience is acceptable with preference for TypeScript.
• Strong manual web testing skills.
• Mobile testing experience with Appium for both manual and automation.
• Basic understanding of API testing. Experience with Postman is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience working in an agile environment.
• Experience with Webdriver or WebdriverIO is a plus.
• Familiarity with Gherkin syntax is a plus.
• Ability to balance web and mobile automation efforts in a 60/40 or 70/30 split as needed.
