Test Automation Engineer
About the role
Your primary responsibility will be to conduct rigorous cyber tool testing to ensure the integrity and robustness of those capabilities. You'll navigate complex virtual test environments using vSphere and ESXi, necessitating familiarity with VMware products. Your role will require a comprehensive understanding of networking protocols and the ability to manage complex storage solutions effectively. Analyzing databases of results and reviewing log files will be a routine part of your job, as will updating the project notes, ensuring that all pertinent information is accurately documented and accessible.
Responsibilities
- Navigate complex virtual test environments using vSphere and ESXi
- Familiarity with VMware products
- Comprehensive understanding of networking protocols
- Effective management of complex storage solutions
- Analyze databases of results and review log files
- Update project notes to ensure accurate documentation
- Describe test setup and results to team members and clients
- Recommend corrections, tool and test environment improvements, and innovative approaches
- Deliver clear and concise reporting to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Work independently and take direction from more senior researchers and subcontractor partners
- Support a dynamic mission environment, including flexibility for occasional weekends, extended hours, and travel to customer sites as needed
Requirements
- Must possess and be able to maintain a U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security clearance
- 1+ years of professional experience in software development (DevSecOps or Cyber experience)
- Knowledge of Python and Bash
- Experience with basic networking
- Familiarity with internal wikis, GitLab, Jira, or Confluence
- Familiarity with databases
- Ability to describe test setup and results to team members and clients
- Confidence and creativity to recommend corrections, tool and test environment improvements, and innovative approaches
- Ability to deliver clear and concise reporting to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and take direction from more senior researchers and subcontractor partners
- Willingness to support a dynamic mission environment, including flexibility for occasional weekends, extended hours, and travel to customer sites as needed
Bonus
- Prior experience with military or government cyber operations support
- Experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, Workstation
- Knowledge of C/C++
- Knowledge of Firewalls, Switching/Routing, CIDR Programming or Vibe coding experience
- Academic degree(s) in relevant fields preferred (Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Mathematics or Physics), or equivalent military experience

Pay
The pay range for the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland is: $96,200 - $192,300 USD
