About the role
This full-time position supports the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center Combatant Command, Command and Control (C2) Division (AFNWC/NCC) as a Senior Test and Evaluation Engineer. The role is located at Offutt AFB, NE.
Responsibilities
- Perform Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to ensure developed software meets defined or standardized quality specifications.
- Review source code and configuration files; provide software engineering resolution support.
- Perform coding tasks for features/functions and functional/performance tests for features/functions.
- Conduct peer design and code reviews with other team members.
- Perform coding/scripting tasks for software build, packaging, and deployment.
- Apply broad and practical knowledge of software engineering to review, prepare, and analyze documentation, planning, requirements, design, support, and test materials.
- Document test scripts, execute tests, and provide reports of findings and functionality.
- Provide full-spectrum test support for government programs, including developing test plans and test reports; coordinate test events with stakeholders (program office, contractor, user, AFOTEC, external agencies).
- Lead the planning, managing, and execution of the independent government test and evaluation portion of Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E); act as the Lead DT&E (LDTO) POC.
- Lead Test Readiness Reviews and support Production Readiness Reviews.
- Serve as Secretariat for the Integrated Testing Team (ITT) and Chair Deficiency Review Boards (DRBs); provide summaries to stakeholders.
- Develop test objectives; create detailed test cases, procedures, and scenarios; define, gather, and report accurate test-related metrics.
- Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
- Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of OPLAN and success working with J37 Leadership on structural plan changes.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance eligibility.
- Must hold Sec+ or IAM II equivalent certification.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including 5 years supporting the DoD.
- Strong knowledge and experience across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong hands-on software design and coding experience.
- Understanding of Agile software methodology and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with 3 years supporting the DoD.
- Prior RBS or infrastructure services experience.

On-site at Offutt AFB, NE. No travel required.
