Testing Engineer

About the role

You will be a vital member of the assembly and testing team in Alpharetta, GA, involved in all project phases—proposals, design, engineering, assembly, testing, and commissioning. Reporting to the GP SCD RNA OPS CS RS Hotline and Testing Manager, your daily activities will be coordinated through the Testing Lead Engineer. The Testing group is part of the Service Operations Group, where all projects must pass before customer acceptance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Engineering to review designed drawings and address manufacturing defects identified during testing.
• Collaborate with the Test Lead to develop or refine testing documentation, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in the testing phase.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Testing with customers and prepare detailed test reports, sharing lessons learned with the team.
• Travel to perform site walk-downs, oversee installation and commissioning, and provide service work for installed systems.
• Conduct hardware setup, power-up, integrated testing of application software, hardware protection testing, and simulated environment validation.
• Learn Siemens Energy's control systems and HMI to support system deployment and customer solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field OR minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical and I&C systems.
• Proven experience in fixing and resolving technical issues in control systems.
• Strong understanding of instrumentation and control system principles and components.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
