About the Role
Develop business partnerships to generate home health referral growth by making effective sales contacts, calls, and presentations. Serve as the agency staff representative with physicians, facilities, discharge planners, and community agencies. Responsible for the overall development and referral growth of the assigned territory.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate quarterly and annual territory plans to achieve growth goals and agreed-upon strategies.
- Build business relationships with providers through effective sales calls and presentations to targeted referral sources.
- Maintain professional and clinical knowledge of provider services; act as liaison between referral partners and agencies to communicate new products, programs, and service delivery.
- Meet with patients and families to discuss home care services, individual needs, and manage expectations.
- Initiate relationships within the Intake department and with patient care resources to ensure effective communication with referral sources and internal stakeholders.
- Update and maintain customer and competitor profiles, log daily call activity, and document follow-up plans with referral sources.
- Serve as agency liaison with physicians, facility nurses, social workers, discharge planners, and community agencies to deliver appropriate services for potential patients.
- Participate in marketing efforts (e.g., physician calls, lunch and learns, health fairs, speaker’s bureau, CEU programs) to educate the healthcare community about home health programs.
- Prepare monthly tracking reports on referral sources and inform the agency of key marketplace changes relating to providers and competitors.
- Collaborate with colleagues, accept and provide constructive feedback, and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
- Utilize Agency and department-specific software to complete assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in home care sales or a related industry with a proven record of achieving incremental growth in direct sales.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs (e.g., communications, presentations, database tracking/reporting, spreadsheets).
- Experience with CRM solutions preferred.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Environmental & Working Conditions
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment with minimal physical effort or exposure to risk.
- Requires reliable transportation and auto liability insurance.
- Access to a computer and basic office equipment.
