Responsibilities

  • Provides support for the daily operations and services of the Charles Cary Veterinary Medical Library.
  • Assists with student employee supervision and training.
  • Coincides with library workflows and ensures quality service to library users.
  • Maintains an organized and accessible library environment.
  • Responds to patron inquiries.
  • Coincides with facility needs and supports library services and procedures.
  • Supports collection maintenance, including shelving, inventory, organization of materials, and management of special collections.
  • Supports resource delivery services by processing interlibrary loan and document delivery requests, preparing materials for delivery, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Aids in updating library webpages, research guides, and online resources to support the needs of veterinary students, faculty, and staff.
  • Participates in library initiatives, committees, outreach activities, and events that promote engagement with the College of Veterinary Medicine and Auburn University Libraries.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support library operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of administrative support and customer service experience OR Associate’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree
  • Desired Qualifications: Experience working in a library and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to contribute collegially and productively in a team environment. Ability to enter data accurately and consistently.
