Responsibilities
- Provides support for the daily operations and services of the Charles Cary Veterinary Medical Library.
- Assists with student employee supervision and training.
- Coincides with library workflows and ensures quality service to library users.
- Maintains an organized and accessible library environment.
- Responds to patron inquiries.
- Coincides with facility needs and supports library services and procedures.
- Supports collection maintenance, including shelving, inventory, organization of materials, and management of special collections.
- Supports resource delivery services by processing interlibrary loan and document delivery requests, preparing materials for delivery, and maintaining accurate records.
- Aids in updating library webpages, research guides, and online resources to support the needs of veterinary students, faculty, and staff.
- Participates in library initiatives, committees, outreach activities, and events that promote engagement with the College of Veterinary Medicine and Auburn University Libraries.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support library operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of administrative support and customer service experience OR Associate’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree
- Desired Qualifications: Experience working in a library and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to contribute collegially and productively in a team environment. Ability to enter data accurately and consistently.
