Responsibilities
- Performs general day-to-day technical services duties, including but not limited to: bibliographic database entry and maintenance, copy cataloging, collection ordering, receiving, processing and mending, invoice preparation, interlibrary loan and collection distribution systems, mail and other deliveries processing and distribution.
- Provides excellent customer service by linking patron needs to library and community resources in a friendly, inclusive, and respectful manner.
- Interprets, explains, and applies library policy and procedures to respond to customer concerns.
- Directs Code of Conduct enforcement and behavioral issues in the library alongside Managers and Public Safety/Community Resource Specialist.
- Manages patron accounts and the circulation of library materials while maintaining patron confidentiality.
- Handles/counts cash and performs cash transactions.
- Offers technology assistance to patrons.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- At least three (3) years of experience working in a library or experience using current Integrated Library System (ILS) software required.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient computer literacy in email, basic software and hardware, and navigating the internet.
- Knowledge of library services and procedures and ALA Professional Code of Ethics.
- Collaborative and relationship-building skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Professionalism and adaptability.
- Technology proficiency, including mastering the library’s ILS, using various web-based resources, and assisting patrons with technology.
Other Duties
- Reports building malfunctions, safety, and security matters to management, safety specialist, and/or Maintenance staff.
- Provides input to managers in the improvement of library policies, plans, and goals and participates in staff committees.
- Offers technology assistance to patrons.
Pay

- Annual Employer HSA Contribution: Contribution of $750 for Employee Plan, Contribution of $1,500 for Employee and Dependent Plan.
- Paid Time Off (PTO): PTO for non-represented employees prorated for remainder of first year of employment. Starting at 4 weeks for first full year of employment for full time staff.
