About the role

As a Territory Sales Representative (TSR) – Truss, you will grow truss sales in the Washington State territory while building and maintaining strong relationships with component manufacturing customers. You will promote Simpson’s Building Technology software suite and related hardware products—covering job management, design and analysis for prefabricated metal plate connected wood trusses, estimating wall panels, and engineered wood products. You will coordinate with branch and company teams to drive profitable growth, lead training sessions and workshops, and collaborate with Regional Sales Managers, Product Management, Marketing, and other TSRs to develop sales strategies and programs. You will also relay market trends and field intelligence to management and operations to ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Drive demand and grow sales in the defined marketplace through active jobsite presence, prospecting, sales calls, opportunity identification, presentations (including hands-on demonstrations), training, and tool repair.
  • Analyze industry and market needs; develop appropriate strategies; forecast territory demand; and provide customer and company support as needed.
  • Assist in securing and maintaining product specifications.
  • Ensure existing Building Technology customers maximize software capabilities by conducting sales-oriented software demonstrations.
  • Communicate customer needs and challenges to various teams and product managers to jointly develop solutions.
  • Promote Simpson Strong-Tie as an industry partner and potential employer; participate in tradeshows, association meetings, and committees; and provide educational opportunities in classroom settings for truss yards, wall panelizers, and contractors.
  • Maintain CRM usage, schedule activities, plan business, submit expense reports, maintain company vehicles, and perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of industry experience and/or training.
  • Fluency in general construction practices and distribution channels.
  • Strong working knowledge of project workflow from architect/engineer to contractor.
  • Sales and account management experience with a proven track record of sales/profit growth preferred.
  • Technical: Ability to gain product knowledge to become a trusted resource for Simpson products and solutions; work with Specialists to provide support as needed.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to develop and deliver captivating presentations and incorporate sales storytelling.

Travel Required

This position requires domestic travel up to 65% of the time.

Work Status & Location

This full-time, exempt position is located in Washington state.

Relocation

Relocation may be considered for this position.

Pay

$84,500 – $120,900 per year
