Territory Sales Representative – Component Manufacturing (WA)
About the role
As a Territory Sales Representative (TSR) – Truss, you will grow truss sales in the Washington State territory while building and maintaining strong relationships with component manufacturing customers. Your focus will be on promoting Simpson’s Building Technology software suite and related hardware products, including job management, design and analysis for prefabricated metal plate connected wood trusses, estimating wall panels, and engineered wood products. You will coordinate with branch and company teams to drive profitable growth, lead training sessions and workshops, and collaborate with Regional Sales Managers, Product Management, Marketing, and other TSRs to develop sales strategies and programs.
Responsibilities
- Drive demand and grow sales through active jobsite presence, prospecting, sales calls, opportunity identification, presentations, hands-on demonstrations, training, and tool repair.
- Analyze industry and market needs, develop strategies, forecast territory demand, and support customers and the company as needed.
- Assist in securing and maintaining product specifications.
- Ensure existing Building Technology customers maximize software capabilities by conducting sales-oriented demonstrations and communicating customer needs to product managers and teams to deliver solutions.
- Promote Simpson Strong-Tie as an industry partner and employer by participating in tradeshows, association meetings, committees, and educational opportunities in classroom and field settings for truss yards, wall panelizers, and contractors.
- Manage CRM, schedule activities, plan business, submit expense reports, maintain company vehicles, and perform other assigned duties.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of industry experience and/or training.
- Fluency in general construction practices and distribution channels.
- Strong working knowledge of project workflow from architect/engineer to contractor.
- Sales and account management experience with a proven track record of sales/profit growth preferred.
- Technical: Ability to gain product knowledge to become a trusted resource for Simpson products and solutions, and to work with specialists to provide support as needed.
- Presentation Skills: Ability to develop and deliver captivating presentations and use sales skills to guide prospects through a narrative.

Travel Required
This position requires domestic travel up to 65% of the time.
Work Status & Location
This full-time, exempt position is located in Washington state. Relocation may be considered.
Pay
$84,500 – $120,900 per year

This role operates in professional offices, customer sites, and outdoor construction job sites. Standard office equipment is routinely used. The employee may occasionally work around moving mechanical parts; noise levels may be loud at times.
