TERRITORY SALES MANAGER (Paint)
With over 100 years of leadership in metals manufacturing and value-added process technology, Wolverine has expanded into aluminum extrusions and engineered aluminum products. Today, we serve customers across automotive, transportation, building and construction, electrical, machinery, and distribution markets with extruded custom shapes and fabricated finished components.
About the role
Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Territory Sales Manager will drive revenue growth within a specific geographic area by developing and executing sales strategies, prospecting new customers, and managing key client relationships. This role acts as a liaison between the field and corporate headquarters, analyzing market trends and directing strategy for new markets and products.
Responsibilities
- Proactively manage customer relationships to ensure retention, satisfaction, and increased sales.
- Plan and execute a new business development strategy for the territory.
- Travel within the assigned territory to meet prospects and customers.
- Maintain daily CRM updates with client information.
- Coordinate sales and service activities with Inside Sales Representatives.
- Practice consultative and value-added selling techniques, including “solution selling.”
- Suggest extrusion design changes to improve extrudability, function, assembly, and cost.
- Qualify potential customers.
- Report on quality requirements, market trends, and competitive information.
- Consistently meet and exceed annual territory sales quotas.
Requirements
- Three to four years’ experience in an outside sales role within the aluminum extrusion industry.
- Familiarity with manufacturing value-add processes (e.g., paint, machining, punching, or cutting) is a plus; specific aluminum extrusion knowledge can be developed on the job.
- Proven record of success in sales from quote to close.
- Engineering, Business Administration, or relevant industry experience.
Skills
- Familiarity with industrial value-added processes (e.g., painting, machining, punching, cutting, anodizing) is helpful but not required.
- Excellent telephone presence, public speaking, and presentation skills.
- Understanding of computers, measurements, tolerances, basic geometry, and blueprint reading.
- High energy, self-starter with a positive attitude and ability to work without direct supervision.
- Strong team player with empathy and confidence.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Must have own vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
Essential Physical Functions
- Ability to work on the production floor with exposure to dust, fumes, odors, loud noise, and varying temperatures.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
