About the role
The Territory Sales Manager role at Hourly is a unique opportunity to build a book of business, earn upfront commissions and long-term residual income, and enjoy a strong product-market fit for SMBs.
Responsibilities
- Possess a proven track record of generating new business through outbound activity, referrals, events, and partner-sourced leads.
- Manage the entire sales cycle, from initial outreach to first payroll run, including discovery, demos, proposal development, and closing deals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders such as CPAs, insurance brokers, financial advisors, and banks to foster referrals and partnerships.
- Forecast accurately using CRM hygiene, deal-stage accuracy, and weekly forecasting to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with the Customer Success team to ensure smooth onboarding and strong early retention rates, focusing on maintaining customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Provide valuable market feedback to inform product, messaging, and go-to-market strategies, ensuring alignment with customer needs and preferences.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of B2B field or territory sales experience, preferably in areas like payroll, HCM, Workers' Comp, insurance, uniforms, food service, or SMB-focused industries.
- A proven history of successful new-logo hunting with consistent outbound prospecting skills.
- Experience in managing short sales cycles in high-volume environments, particularly relevant to small business owners in construction, restaurant, and service industries.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to clients.
- A self-starter mindset capable of planning and executing within a territory, demonstrating initiative and adaptability.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and modern CRM tools, essential for managing and tracking sales activities efficiently.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
