About the role
The Territory Sales Manager is the primary liaison between PDI and our key customers in the field, ensuring our market standing is secure and growth-oriented. Acting as a trusted advisor, this role drives top-line sales growth by providing the best mix of product and information to create a superior Infection Prevention environment.
Responsibilities
- Achieves all target goals for the territory
- Meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas established by the company.
- Demonstrate competency in selling the full portfolio of products.
- Cultivates relationships with distributors, IDN, and acute care entities
- Manage sales and marketing activity with assigned Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) and select dealers to ensure sales growth objectives are met for all product portfolios.
- Follow corporate programs with regional and national distributors to ensure supply chain coverage to end-users.
- Establish and build relationships with key distribution and group purchasing organizations’ sales representatives and management.
- Partners internally with cross-functional leaders
- Work with Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) to support regional business objectives.
- Collaborate with National Accounts, Marketing, and other departments to identify opportunities or issues.
- Reporting and analysis of pertinent sales results
- Document sales activity in Salesforce.com daily.
- Maintain profiles of current and prospective customers, including proposals, supply agreements, and memos.
- Collect, analyze, and report competitive information to sales and marketing departments.
- Prepare and deliver reports such as sales forecasts, monthly reports, expense reports, and problem-solving reports.
- Champions infection prevention opportunities
- Complete all education modules and webinars on PDI University in a timely manner.
- Attend and participate in local strategic partners’ chapter meetings (APIC, AVA, EVS).
- Performance measurements
- Achieve or exceed target growth in territory for individual focus portfolios.
- Consistently meet educational goals (PDI University, subject matter expertise, etc.).
- Keep back-office activities up-to-date (Salesforce, reporting, etc.).
Requirements
- Education/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of sales experience in both Acute Care and B2B-facing companies.
- Knowledge:
- Understanding of basic sales techniques, business development processes, and the acute care market.
- Knowledge of Infection Prevention, Vascular Access, Environmental Services, and Surgical Suite applications is strongly recommended.
- Skills/Abilities:
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, Salesforce.com, or other CRM products.
- Demonstrated strategic focus and drive for success.
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to challenge conventional mindsets.
Working Conditions
- Field-based role interfacing in healthcare settings, which may require the use of personal protective equipment.
- Significant travel required, including nights and weekends.
Pay
Total compensation range: $98,000 - $175,000 (annual base of $75,000 - $100,000 + uncapped incentive). Compensation varies depending on location/market, relevant skill set, level of experience, and individual performance.
