Territory Sales Manager

As we expand across our markets, we're looking for driven, relationship-focused people who want to grow with us. That's where you come in. As our Territory Sales Manager, you'll use a consultative sales approach to sell construction and solid waste services to small and mid-sized commercial accounts across your assigned territory. You'll prospect, cold call, and build relationships that turn into closed business, working proposals from first meeting to signed agreement and beyond. This role is a great fit for someone who is self-motivated, comfortable owning a full sales cycle, and energized by being on the road and in front of customers.
Responsibilities
- Prospect and close new business to achieve sales revenue goals within an assigned territory, developing and executing sound selling strategies that drive revenue growth
- Prepare for and execute cold calls to prospective commercial customers, securing appointments to present and sell services
- Conduct pre-sales research to understand customer needs, gather marketing and pricing materials, and prepare for objections ahead of each meeting
- Use sales productivity tools, including the prospect and customer database, proposal program, and pricing tools, to manage the sales process
- Facilitate prospect follow-up meetings and match services to customer needs by demonstrating knowledge of customers, pricing, and the competitive landscape
- Communicate pricing and service strategies effectively, and refer additional business opportunities internally as appropriate
- Apply industry and company knowledge to recommend equipment optimization and leasing options
- Negotiate and close sales by presenting alternatives that lead to mutually beneficial agreements
- Prepare and deliver sales proposals for complex accounts
- Conduct post-sale administrative work to ensure successful product and service implementation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 3 years of sales experience required
- Strong goal-setting, time management, and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
- High-impact communication skills
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Travel requirement: 100 percent, including regular driving to customer sites throughout the assigned territory
- Ability to sit and drive for extended periods, and to sit or stand through customer meetings
- Frequent use of hands for driving, typing, and general office and sales equipment
- Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and in writing
- This position is primarily field-based, with time split between customer sites throughout the territory and remote or home-office work
