Responsibilities
- Act as primary point of contact for territory;
- Responsible for market development and sales support within the territory;
- Develop qualified sales opportunities within the territory;
- Serve as primary relationship manager between Interpipe and territory customer base;
- Prepare prospect list of customers generated through targeted lists, online research and by attending appropriate industry events. Setup follow-up meetings;
- Solicit prices and prepare quotations procurement match and discounts as needed;
- Provide deep understanding of regional competition and pricing;
- Maximize gross margin through careful analysis during quote process;
- Support accounts payable/accounts receivable by providing necessary information from related sales;
- Integrate industry knowledge into sales strategies related to general trends, emerging technologies and competitors;
- Manage value added services, understand customer’s production, processes and market position;
- Maintain various records and files including customer lists, product lists and discounts;
- Develop strong relationships with Interpipe’s vendors and suppliers, and understand offerings to increase sales;
- Develop deep understanding of product offerings and pricing as aligned with customer needs;
- Establish rapport and provide prompt responses to internal and external customers;
- Maintain and expand database of prospects;
- Participate in meetings and training opportunities to enhance and maintain product knowledge;
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education / work experience that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform job requirements;
- 10 or more years in an inside sales position with increasing responsibility;
- Strong knowledge of steel pipe industry;
- Strong reasoning, analytical, math and reading skills;
- Demonstrated competence in the use of computers and software applications;
- Must have strong initiative (self-starter);
- Must have a strong attention to detail;
- Candidate must thrive in a team environment;
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with strong skills in multi-tasking, written/verbal communication, organizational ability, prioritization, and dealing with ambiguity;
- Experience with Sage a plus;
- Valid Driver’s License;
- Some overtime may be required;
- Bilingual in written and spoken Spanish, a plus;
- Willingness and ability to travel within and outside the region
