Territory Operations Manager NI

About the role

As a Territory Operations Manager, you will provide management of the company’s operational activities and functions relating to the installation of new products, while partnering with the NI Sales team on all acquisition opportunities outside our portfolio within an assigned geographic span. Your work will achieve customer satisfaction and meet the strategic business objectives of the region.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a business plan in support of the territory’s financial and non-financial objectives, and support the implementation of territory NI operations initiatives.
• Build and recommend an operational budget; manage expenditures within approved specifications for time, materials, parts inventory, company tools, and vehicles for cost-effective results.
• Manage networking capital via appropriate asset management measures and billing procedures.
• Develop and maintain strong commercial relationships with key customers, general contractors, and influential industry consultants through personal contact and staff assignments.
• Manage, mentor, and lead a team of NI-focused Field Superintendents and Project Coordinators by setting and clarifying employee objectives, managing performance, and developing skills to meet financial targets and KPIs.
• Lead the hiring and onboarding of all new NI Superintendents and Project Coordinators.
• Initiate procedures and leadership practices to foster participative management, maintain high morale, and demonstrate support of Schindler’s cultural beliefs and best practices.
• Engage in proactive labor relations with local business agents, with support from Schindler’s Labor Relations team.
• Set expectations for Field Technician engagement and provide Superintendents with support for ongoing training and performance management to improve productivity and quality.
• Advise Superintendents on resource utilization and assignment to ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality job completion while driving installation efficiency.
• Ensure all required NI operations meetings are effective; lead meetings where appropriate.
• Provide expert technical oversight for projects needing additional intervention by visiting jobsites and reviewing ongoing work to ensure projects close at required efficiency and profitability levels, avoiding overruns.
• Ensure the team organizes and handles proper inspection and turnover processes at project conclusion.
• Interface with Product Line experts on operational challenges, including product issues, CQRs, safety concerns, and supply chain matters.
• Coordinate personnel and product safety responsibilities in partnership with the Field Quality Excellence organization, driving safety training, process adherence, technical training, and equipment testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent in relevant work experience.
• 5-7 years in various assignments within the company, the elevator industry, or another service-oriented business.
• Experience managing a P&L for an industrial company.
• Up to 50% travel within the territory will be required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
