About the role

As the leading provider of virtual fencing technology, Halter is on a mission to enable 50% of the world’s landmass to be more productive and sustainable. This role is paramount for our growth aspirations and will enable us to continue making an impact on ranches across the US.

Responsibilities

  • Driving up driveways, attending local cattle auctions, and meeting with local livestock, cattleman's, and stockman's associations to build new business pipelines.
  • Fielding inbound leads in a timely manner, prioritizing administrative tasks with in-field activities.
  • Out on the ranch helping potential customers before diving into the value of Halter, dropping off coffee during calving season, and attending industry events like CattleCon or local Livestock Association meetups.
  • Expanding existing opportunities by finding value in expanding relationships and finding new ways to increase value over time.
  • Hitting high-growth sales targets without second-guessing unqualified leads, managing today’s deals while keeping next month in sight.
  • Building relationships with customers to ensure their ongoing satisfaction, providing support, and addressing any challenges they face with Halter’s products.
  • Ensuring a smooth handoff from sales to customer onboarding and deployment of Halter, helping customers get the most value from Halter’s solutions.
  • Gathering customer feedback in your territory to advocate for what your customers need, collaborating with support teams to resolve issues, and attending industry events to expand Halter’s influence in the market.
  • Contributing to the US Sales Strategy by working with the broader team to optimize and evolve the sales process, ensuring it fits the US market.

Requirements

  • A strong history of creating new business opportunities, negotiating a value-based sales conversation, and building lasting customer relationships.
  • Experience managing a large territory with a balanced focus on sales and customer success, ideally within agriculture or technology.
  • Resourceful and quick-thinking problem-solving skills, working well with cross-functional teams to address challenges and drive solutions.
  • A willingness to travel frequently within your territory to engage with customers and prospects.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies.
  • A background in customer-facing roles within agriculture technology.
  • A background in selling software (SaaS) solutions in a B2B environment.
