About the role
As the leading provider of virtual fencing technology, Halter is on a mission to enable 50% of the world’s landmass to be more productive and sustainable. This role is paramount for our growth aspirations and will enable us to continue making an impact on ranches across the US.
Responsibilities
- Driving up driveways, attending local cattle auctions, and meeting with local livestock, cattleman's, and stockman's associations to build new business pipelines.
- Fielding inbound leads and prioritizing administrative tasks with in-field activities.
- Outfield sales: Helping potential customers before diving into the value of Halter, such as dropping off coffee during calving season.
- Expanding existing opportunities: Finding value in expanding relationships and finding new ways to increase value over time.
- Hitting sales targets: Managing today's deals while keeping next month in your sights.
- Customer account management: Building relationships, providing support, and addressing challenges faced by customers with Halter’s products.
- Field learnings & feedback: Gathering customer feedback in your territory to advocate for what your customers need.
- Collaborating with support teams: Seeking out partners across Halter to resolve issues and ensure customers feel fully supported.
- Attending industry events: Participating in demonstrations and networking to expand Halter’s influence in the market.
- Contributing to the US Sales Strategy: Working with the broader team to optimize and evolve the sales process, ensuring it fits the US market.
Requirements
- Driven attitude and communication skills: Results-driven, motivated, and adaptable.
- Ranching/cattle experience: Understanding the unique challenges of the industry.
- Sales/customer success expertise: Creating new business opportunities, negotiating value-based sales conversations, and building lasting customer relationships.
- Territory management experience: Managing a large territory with a balanced focus on sales and customer success, ideally within agriculture or technology.
- Problem-solving & collaboration ability: Resourceful and quick-thinking, working well with cross-functional teams to address challenges and drive solutions.
- Willingness to travel: Frequent travel within your territory to engage with customers and prospects.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies.
- Background in customer-facing roles within agriculture technology.
- Background in selling software (SaaS) solutions in a B2B environment.
