About the Role
We are seeking results-driven self-starters interested in a career in field sales, specifically focused on developing relationships with outdoor power equipment rental dealers. Territory Managers will leverage the SCAG, Bluebird, and Versatran brands to meet objectives including annual rental and product sales goals, new rental dealer recruitment, dealer development, and upgrading the rental dealer networks. The territory for this position includes Tennessee.
Responsibilities
To the Company
- Understand all selling and marketing programs and develop a plan to meet annual goals and objectives.
- Communicate the uniqueness and value of SCAG, Bluebird, and Versatran products to dealers.
- Spend the majority of time making on-site calls to be an active part of customers’ businesses.
- Direct dealers to devote maximum effort and resources to our products.
- Know your competition, including pricing, practices, and products.
- Perform product demonstrations as needed.
To the Dealer
- Work with dealers to establish sales goals for all products and provide market vision.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client needs and resolving issues promptly.
- Proactively help dealers manage, control, and resolve problems (sales, operational, business, finance).
- Train dealers and sales personnel on the features and benefits of SCAG, Bluebird, and Versatran products.
- Ensure dealers are informed about their major competitors (products and operations).
- Monitor dealer inventory and suggest actions (e.g., maintain proper inventory, address slow-moving merchandise).
- Represent dealers to the company and vice versa.
- Ensure dealers have signage and an online presence around the SCAG, Bluebird, and Versatran brands.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of external sales experience, preferably in outdoor power equipment wholesale or retail.
- High school degree is required.
- Great communication and follow-through skills.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build lasting relationships.
- Mid to high proficiency with Microsoft-based programs (Excel, Word, and others).
- Physical ability to use and operate all forms of power equipment.
- Ability and willingness to work non-standard hours to meet customer needs.
- Ability to travel the territory effectively (most travel will be by pickup truck).
- Must live in or be willing to relocate to the assigned territory (Tennessee).
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
Willingness to travel extensively: 80% on the road / 20% home office.
