About the role

This Territory Manager position within BD's Advanced Patient Monitoring (APM) division focuses on managing and expanding a defined portfolio of APM customers to broaden patient reach and increase utilization of APM technologies across various care settings. The role targets large-scale healthcare organizations, including integrated delivery networks (IDNs) and major hospital systems, engaging with anesthesiologists, cardiac surgeons, critical care medicine, and EP Lab professionals.

Primary products include the FloTrac Sensor, ClearSight cuff, Acumen IQ cuff/sensors, and ForeSight, used for continuous noninvasive blood pressure monitoring and tissue oximetry in outpatient surgeries. These technologies support enhanced surgical recovery, hypotension management, sepsis, and shock management.

The role drives business growth by identifying opportunities, closing deals, analyzing performance gaps, and executing regional strategies to meet sales targets. The ideal candidate will reside in either Columbia, SC or Wilmington, NC, covering the territory of Columbia, Florence, Myrtle Beach, SC, and Wilmington, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow relationships with large-scale healthcare organizations, including IDNs and major hospital systems.
  • Call on key stakeholders such as anesthesiologists, cardiac surgeons, critical care medicine, and EP Lab professionals.
  • Drive business growth within new and existing accounts by identifying opportunities and closing deals.
  • Analyze performance gaps and execute short-term regional strategies to meet sales targets.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans tailored to complex healthcare systems.
  • Understand customer needs and articulate APM product features compared to competitor offerings.
  • Build productive internal and external relationships, engaging with relevant customer contacts.
  • Utilize influencing skills to impact buying decisions with tact and diplomacy.
  • Navigate multi-layered decision-making structures within large hospitals and IDNs.
  • Manage long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders, including c-suite executives and administrative leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive sales experience.
  • Medical devices industry experience.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and consultative selling skills.
  • Strong enterprise-level selling skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of the strengths and limitations of own products and competitor products.
  • Understanding of BU strategy, selling model, medical devices industry, and regional selling environment.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good understanding of hemodynamic monitoring and/or cardiovascular anatomy, pathology, and physiology relevant to APM medical products.
  • Experience developing an understanding of assigned accounts and their challenges.
