Responsibilities

  • Manages and directs all daily and long-range activities of Central Region to include sales management, customer relations, inventory control, proposal development, pricing strategies, and managing channel conflict.
  • Show leadership in the development of sales channels including manufacturer’s reps and distributors.
  • Make calls on customers alone and with distributors and reps to close business.
  • Responsible for driving pricing initiatives by collaborating with product management and ensuring they have the necessary market intelligence.
  • Help customers select the equipment they require based on the current product offerings.
  • Provide input to marketing, product management, and product development to create leading-edge products and services positioned to leverage company strengths.
  • Understand the vertical markets, its customer's needs, and the competitor landscape.
  • Build long-term relationships with customers and strengthen company image with industry luminaries.
  • Demonstrate urgency when responding to customer issues and opportunities.
  • Share best practices and help formulate strategies for identifying, developing, and managing new business channels by leveraging synergies across company platforms.
  • Break down internal barriers and be a catalyst for platform success.
  • Drive and implement business initiatives to trigger growth.
  • Manage Sales/Marketing efforts within the defined region.
  • Comfortable presenting on technical topics at industry trade shows and regional training.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering highly preferred (Environmental, Mechanical, Industrial)
  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Sales Engineer
  • Experience in the municipal / municipalities sector is a MUST!
  • Knowledgeable of water chemical treatment technologies including water quality measurement instruments / devices used to provide reliable water measurement tools, water testing equipment, and chemical reagents municipal water systems use to monitor water quality.
  • Techincal insight into the water product line and experience assisting customers in developing forecasts, anticipating and solving practical problems to resolve issues.
  • High initiative and an upbeat, positive attitude are a must.
  • Travel up to 50% in the central region and live in or near Chicago.
