About the role
At Halter, we’re on a mission to enable farmers and graziers to run the most productive and sustainable operations. Our customers are using Halter to break free from the time-intensive constraints of conventional practices. As a Territory Manager, you will play a critical role in driving new business growth and ensuring customer success within your designated territory in the South Central region of Montana. You will be responsible for executing sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and meeting ambitious growth targets, all while acting as Halter’s on-the-ground representative.
This role requires a proactive and hands-on approach, with a focus on both expansion and long-term customer satisfaction. Frequent travel within your territory is required.
Responsibilities
- Prospect new business by driving up driveways, attending local cattle auctions, meeting with livestock associations, and building a pipeline through outbound lead generation.
- Field inbound leads in a timely manner and balance administrative tasks with in-field activities.
- Conduct in-field sales by engaging with potential customers in settings like kitchen tables, horse saddles, or side-by-sides in pastures, demonstrating the value of Halter’s technology.
- Expand existing customer relationships by identifying new opportunities to increase value, such as upselling additional collars or services.
- Hit high-growth sales targets by managing your pipeline effectively, qualifying leads, and focusing on both immediate and future deals.
- Manage customer accounts post-sale to ensure ongoing satisfaction, provide support, and address challenges, including a smooth handoff to customer onboarding and deployment teams.
- Take ownership of your territory, ensuring comprehensive coverage and building relationships with high-level stakeholders from local, state, and federal agencies.
- Actively participate in customer onboarding to ensure a seamless transition from sales to implementation, even after handing off to other teams.
- Gather and advocate for customer feedback, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address issues and improve Halter’s products.
- Attend industry events like CattleCon or local Livestock Association meetups to generate leads, deepen customer relationships, and expand Halter’s market influence.
- Contribute to the US sales strategy by working with the broader team to optimize and evolve the sales process for the US market.
