About the Role
The Territory Manager (TM) is part of the U.S. Sales team covering Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. The TM adds value for Husqvarna and its dealers by cultivating business relationships that facilitate each dealer’s growth, optimal performance, and success. This role is responsible for securing and developing new dealers to meet sales and market-share goals for the territory. The TM plans, enhances, and measures the performance of assigned dealers while servicing the dealer base. This position requires regular in-person customer engagement to present products and promotional programs, with up to 60% travel and overnight stays.
Responsibilities
- Develop a plan to increase company brand position in the assigned territory.
- Gain dealer commitment and secure orders.
- Make planned dealer calls and chronicle discussions and outcomes in CRM.
- Demonstrate equipment and provide product application learning opportunities (able to lift 40-50 lbs for demos and trade show setups).
- Facilitate the success of sales, marketing, and promotional campaigns.
- Acquaint dealers with the latest selling techniques.
- Monitor dealer inventory levels and drive business adjustments as required.
- Represent Husqvarna at trade, industry, and dealer shows.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school degree or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a high-performance sales environment.
- Must live within the assigned territory in a location the Company determines will best serve customers.
- Prior sales experience in high-growth industries such as appliance, agricultural equipment, power tools, electronics, consumer durables, construction equipment, or power sports is preferred.
- Prior dealer/distributor sales experience preferred.
- Proven sales performer with excellent negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently and transfer expert knowledge into practical solutions for dealers and customers.
- Demonstrated understanding of market positioning from both financial and product viewpoints.
- Knowledge and/or aptitude for learning extensively about outdoor power equipment and the industry to effectively represent the Husqvarna brand.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop high-quality working relationships internally and externally.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn in-house programs for tracking sales and customer relations.
