Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the Customer Service, Scale House, and Inventory Control teams to achieve operational and customer service excellence.
- Cook up daily traffic activities involving break bulk cargo, rail, vessel, barge, truck, and warehouse operations to ensure efficient cargo movement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between customers, terminal operations, transportation providers, and third-party vendors.
- Monitor cargo movements, inventory accuracy, shipment status, and transportation schedules while proactively resolving issues.
- Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel to develop reports, analyze operational data, track key performance metrics, and support business decisions.
- Collaborate with marine scheduling and operations teams to coordinate vessel arrivals, cargo handling, storage, and outbound transportation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable transportation and terminal regulations.
- Coordinate internal and external audits while maintaining accurate operational documentation and inventory records.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Support leadership with operational planning, performance reporting, special projects, and other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Transportation, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in transportation, logistics, terminal operations, or traffic management.
- Oracle/Net Suite experience is a plus.
- Required experience managing break bulk cargo operations within a marine terminal or port environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, reporting, and data analysis.
- Strong knowledge of marine terminal operations, rail transportation, trucking, warehousing, and inventory control.
- Proven leadership experience managing customer service, logistics, or operations teams.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and customer service.
- Self-motivated professional with a continuous improvement mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing operational demands.
