Terminal Manager
About the role
We are hiring a Terminal Manager at Airgas, located in New Carlisle, IN. This position is open and requires a commitment to safety, growth, and compliance with regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Directly responsible for local safety management, driver recruiting and staffing, vehicle maintenance, and cost management.
- Supervise, train, and manage direct reports including bulk drivers, mechanics, and office staff.
- Supervise rolling stock maintenance and control expenses through proper scheduling of preventative maintenance and coordination with third-party vendors.
- Recruit and retain drivers to ensure sufficient staffing levels and customer service excellence.
- Develop and maintain a sustainable audit process for driver files, vehicle maintenance records, and shipping papers to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrate DOT Hours of Service compliance for all drivers at assigned terminals.
- Drive continuous improvement across safety, customer service, and efficiency KPIs while ensuring maximum utilization of vehicles and equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 4-6 years of operations management experience supervising a staff (in lieu of a degree).
- 3+ years of distribution or logistics experience.
- Valid US Driver’s License.
- Proficiency in Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of operations management experience supervising a staff.
- Previous experience in the industrial and/or specialty gas business.
- Experience with bulk transportation and fleet maintenance.
- Strong mathematical abilities and knowledge of DOT/FDA regulatory requirements.
