Terminal Operator, Logistics

About the role

The Terminal Operator works an alternate work schedule and is responsible for the safe and accurate operations at the Martinez Terminal in Martinez, CA.

Responsibilities

• Complies with all local, state, and federal regulatory standards for employee health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Supports all quality programs through adherence to Company policies and procedures.
• Participates in and completes all training programs in a timely manner.
• Understands the process to load trucks (including TMS), troubleshoot, and maintain flawless operations.
• Understands the process to safely offload trucks.
• Understands the Vapor Recovery System associated with truck loading.
• Monitors truck & trailer management and yard movements using TMS.
• Responsible for the accurate measurement and sampling of various products.
• Responsible for ongoing communications and product management with MRC, PBF Commercial team, and others.
• Maintains accurate records of inbound and outbound movements.
• Operates in compliance with environmental requirements and permit requirements.
• Utilizes computer software to perform various data input, product tracking and reporting, and company communication.
• Understands work permitting process.
• Conducts yard audits and inventory checks to ensure environmental and safety compliance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems.
• Completes maintenance items and notifies supervisor of equipment and maintenance problems.
• Conducts weekly & monthly inspections and performs light-duty maintenance on equipment.
• Works independently as well as with contractors and others.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office & other basic computer skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with truck rack operations.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $32.37–$50.68 per hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, job-related skills, and internal peer equity will be considered in determining the selected candidate’s compensation. Salaries at the time of hire are typically in the lower to middle portion of the above range to provide opportunity for future performance-based increases.
