About the Role

Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 32 countries and territories in North America, the Greater Caribbean, and Europe. The Operator performs multiple functions at a land/water-side fuel storage facility. This is a 365-day operating facility, requiring flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily rounds: checking pumps, equipment for leaks, pressures, gauges, charts, drums, buckets, sample cabinets, and valve positions (open/closed).
  • Unload trucks (red dye, gas additive, asphalt additive, ethanol, gasoline) and rail cars of ethanol; set up for shipping/receiving.
  • Handle marine front tasks, including fueling tugs, barges, and sea-going vessel receipts (PIC training required; TWIC Card required).
  • Process paperwork and samples from trucks, tugs, and tanks (check for water).
  • Pull daily asphalt samples and understand testing parameters (flash, distillation, vapor, octane, min/max values).
  • Manage tank farm operations: identify product-tank assignments, pull samples, drain water, and perform hand-line gauging.
  • Set up pipeline operations for truck racks, tank transfers, vessel receipts, and railcar receipts.
  • Knowledge of unit operations, truck racks, G3, card readers, and hot oil heater systems.
  • Perform truck rack product tank changes and daily outside AVO’s (avoiding voltage hazards) and general maintenance.
  • Execute pumping operations: transfer products, gauge products transferred to/from tanks and pipelines.
  • Perform tank-to-tank lineups, switch and pump tanks to move products in/out of storage.
  • Conduct tank inspections and prepare records as required.
  • Perform routine and ongoing daily facility inspections, including PMO 6 monthly tasks and inspections.
  • Sample tanks for testing.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience with bulk fuel storage and pipeline operations is a plus.
  • TWIC Card required.
  • PIC training required for marine front tasks.

Skills

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and follow departmental instructions.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Working Conditions

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Frequent driving, walking, and standing.
  • Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions, and heavy lifting.
  • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings with potential exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, loud machinery, and hazardous materials (appropriate PPE required).
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
