Term Faculty of Teaching or Practice for the Department of Finance
About the role
The Department of Finance in the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University seeks a full-time term (non-tenure track) faculty member at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Teaching Professor or Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Practice. The position begins Spring semester, January 2027, and involves teaching undergraduate and graduate finance courses with an anticipated course load of four courses per semester (4-4 teaching load). Instruction will be primarily in-person on the Ames, IA campus, with potential for some online delivery. The successful candidate will also contribute to departmental service and student activities, such as case competition preparation. The initial term is one year, ending December 31, 2027, with possibility for renewal.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities
- Teach four courses per semester at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Finance
- Deliver primarily in-person classroom instruction on the Ames, IA campus, with potential for some online course delivery
- Contribute to departmental service and student activities (e.g., case competition preparation)
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Business or closely related field
- Must meet the college’s standards to be qualified under AACSB accreditation standards
Qualifications
- Prior collegiate teaching experience of at least five years in finance or closely related field
- Professional industry experience (e.g., financial services, corporate finance)
- Professional credentials in finance (e.g., CFA)
- PhD in Finance or closely related field
- Solid technological skills to support use of online instructional tools
