Clinical or Teaching Professor of Finance
About the role
The Department of Finance at The Pennsylvania State University (University Park) seeks to fill up to three non‑tenure‑track faculty members (rank and salary commensurate with experience) beginning in August 2027 to support curriculum needs across corporate finance, investments, financial institutions, FinTech, Wealth Management, and related areas. This is a term position; length of the term will be discussed during the interview process. Continuation past the term length discussed will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding. Approval of remote and hybrid work is not guaranteed regardless of work location.
Responsibilities
- Teach predominantly at the undergraduate level, with potential opportunities to teach graduate courses.
- Deliver excellent teaching across rigorous courses that incorporate experiential elements such as case discussions and projects presented to industry partners or alumni.
- Fulfill service commitments required of teaching and clinical faculty, including mentoring students, serving on department or school committees, and managing corporate partner relationships.
- Work effectively with faculty and students to contribute to a vibrant and collegial environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of a master’s degree in finance or a closely related field at the time of hiring.
- PhD in finance is preferred.
- Applications encouraged from experienced teaching professors, recent Ph.D. graduates, Ph.D. candidates who will complete their degree before August 2027, and individuals with terminal degrees and substantial industry experience.
