About the role

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for one or more tenure-track faculty positions in Statistics at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting September 1, 2026. Candidates at higher ranks may be considered based on qualifications; however, preference will be given to applicants at the Assistant Professor level.

Responsibilities

  • Publish in peer-reviewed journals
  • Initiate and participate in funded research activities
  • Contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching

Requirements

  • Earned Doctorate in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field by September 1, 2026
  • Demonstrated record of quality research
  • Demonstrated record of teaching

Qualifications

  • Strong track record of interdisciplinary research
  • An additional position may be open for applicants collaborating with biology
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels

Benefits
