About the role

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (MPSY), part of the Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine at Texas A&M University, seeks two (2) full-time, open-rank tenured or tenure-track positions. These positions are 11-month academic appointments with flexible start dates.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the academic community and the needs of the Texas and global communities through research, clinical care, teaching, and service.
  • Establish an independent research program focused on geriatric psychiatry to secure extramural funding.
  • Teach clinical and research trainees.
  • Provide academic service to the department and university.

Requirements

  • M.D., Ph.D. degree, or equivalent professional degree.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas (if applicable).
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (if applicable).

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated excellence in scholarship.
  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical care and/or teaching.
  • Strong commitment to advancing geriatric psychiatry through innovative research and education.

Skills

  • Ability to secure external funding.
  • Experience in geriatric psychiatry research, clinical care, and teaching.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The academic appointment is 11 months per year.
