About the Role
Hillsdale College, a small (1,500 students) and fiercely independent Christian college of liberal arts, seeks two full-time tenure-track faculty positions in History beginning August 2027. Rank will be determined by the level of experience and record of the successful candidates.
- One position is for a historian specializing in U.S. history.
- The second position is for a historian focusing outside the U.S., with special consideration given to medieval or modern Europe.
- Interest and experience in military history are welcome for either position.
Applicants should possess the ability and enthusiasm for teaching courses in the Western and the American Heritage, required components of the college’s core curriculum. The successful candidates will teach three courses per semester, two of which will be sections of the core Heritage courses.
Requirements
- PhD in History or related field (required).
