About the Department

The History and Philosophy Department prepares students for adaptable, fulfilling careers by teaching a core set of transferable knowledge and skills through research, analyzing and assessing evidence, and articulating sound conclusions both orally and in writing. Students learn about the larger world by studying societies, cultures, and economies across a broad chronological and geographical spectrum, making them better global citizens, problem solvers, and communicators.

With more than 400 full-time faculty and 8,100 degree-seeking students, the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities & Social Sciences is dedicated to pioneering workforce readiness in the humanities and social sciences. The College offers more than 80 graduate and undergraduate programs of study, enabling students to develop leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, as well as a strong sense of civic engagement.

About the Role

Kennesaw State University is accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited-term faculty positions in the Department of History and Philosophy for the academic year 2026-2027. These positions are on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. Positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

• Teaching general education undergraduate courses in History

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in History or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
• A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching online or hybrid courses
• Record of past teaching undergraduate students in History
