About the role
Texas A&M University College of Nursing seeks two outstanding faculty members with experience in academic nursing education for full-time tenure-track or tenured faculty appointments in Bryan, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Teaching: Faculty are expected to teach effectively across classroom, clinical, simulation, and online environments, developing new courses that align with current curricular and accreditation standards.
- Preparing and revising course materials and assessments to enhance student learning.
- Selecting, and managing high-quality clinical experiences.
- Providing competent clinical supervision.
- Evaluating student performance, advising, and mentoring students for academic success.
- Maintaining posted office hours.
- Collaborating with and mentoring faculty colleagues.
- Maintaining current with clinical certifications.
- Research/Scholarship: Faculty in tenure-track positions conduct research and scholarship activities in accordance with their rank and appointment expectations. They disseminate findings through publications and presentations, seek competitive external funding to support their research endeavors, and lead or collaborate on scholarly projects that advance nursing education, clinical practice, or health outcomes.
- Service: Service involves active participation in college, university, and professional activities, including committee membership, accreditation, or self-study initiatives, advising student organizations, and engaging with the community.
- Tenured faculty are also expected to mentor junior colleagues and provide leadership within college or university committees and professional organizations or boards.
Requirements
- Earned PhD degree in nursing or in a related field with at least one graduate degree in nursing.
- Clinical expertise in nursing.
- Candidate must be eligible for a Texas RN and/or APRN license depending upon credentials.
- Demonstrated record of scholarly productivity, extramural funding, or strong potential for obtaining extramural funding.
- Evidence of research, publication, dissemination, and collaboration must be consistent with expectations for the faculty rank.
- Experience teaching academic nursing (face-to-face, online, or clinical courses) at the baccalaureate or higher level.
- Must be qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank, and eligible for tenure consideration at Texas A&M University depending on rank.
- Strong writing, public speaking, and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead and collaborate on interprofessional teams.
- Highly organized and professional demeanor.
- Ability to multi-task and establish effective working relationships.
- Understanding of the mission and role of Land Grant Universities.
Qualifications
- Completion of post-doctoral education.
- Academic degrees granted from more than one degree-granting institution.

Schedule
These positions carry teaching responsibilities in our nationally ranked undergraduate and graduate programs and are full-time, 9-month appointments with the possibility of a summer contract.
