Tenure Track Faculty Position, Gastroenterology - Assistant Professor

Job Summary

The Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology is required.

Responsibilities

• Teaching responsibilities may include teaching Penn students, residents and fellows and postdoctoral fellows.
• Clinical responsibilities may include care that specializes in IBD, motility/physiology, hepatology, advanced endoscopy, and/or general gastroenterology.
• The selected candidate may be required to provide these services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC), Pennsylvania Hospital (PAH) and/or Penn Medicine at Radnor (PMR).
• Research or scholarship responsibilities may include working on research in any field of gastroenterology or hepatology, including liver biology, mucosal biology and immunology, GI cancer, physiology, microbiome and others.
• The expectation is leading an extramurally funded research program in bench, clinical/translational, or health services research.
• The successful candidate should have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research and teaching. Specifically, candidates must have demonstrated an ability to obtain external funding for their research, including federal sources.

Requirements

Pay

The salary range for this position is $180,000 - $250,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
