Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Statistics

About the role

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Haverford College invites applicants for a tenure-track position in applied statistics to begin in the fall of 2027. The appointment begins July 1, 2027, and it is expected that the Ph.D. will be completed prior to the fall semester start date on August 30, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Teach statistics courses at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum
• Direct senior theses in statistics
• Conduct original research in applied statistics

Qualifications

• Preference given to candidates with a Ph.D. in statistics or biostatistics; candidates with a Ph.D. in related fields with a primary research interest in statistics will also be considered
• Demonstrated ability to teach statistics courses at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum
• Demonstrated ability to direct senior theses in statistics
• Demonstrated ability to conduct original research in applied statistics
