The Department of Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology. This position is part of a collaborative and interactive department committed to advancing knowledge about the mind, brain, and behavior within the School of Arts & Sciences.

About the role

The successful candidate will join the core faculty of the APA- and PCSAS-accredited clinical training program, preparing students for academic and research careers in clinical psychology. The role includes contributing to graduate and undergraduate teaching, mentoring a diverse student body, and engaging in interdisciplinary research across Penn’s 12 schools and numerous centers, such as MindCORE, the Positive Psychology Center, and the Computational Neuroscience Initiative. The position benefits from research, clinical, and training opportunities in the greater Philadelphia region.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in clinical science that complements existing departmental and university strengths.
  • Teach and mentor students at both graduate and undergraduate levels.
  • Contribute to the clinical training program’s academic and research missions.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration across departments, centers, and affiliated institutions.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology awarded by August 2027.
  • Strong research potential in any area of clinical science.
  • Capacity for teaching at graduate and undergraduate levels.
  • Ability to mentor and support a diverse student body.
  • Preference for candidates who are licensed or license-eligible in clinical psychology.
